Cult eyewear brand Local Supply collaborated with Lara Worthington for the first Lara x Local Supply collection. Over a year in the making, the collection features two distinct styles in versatile colorways inspired by muses Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Zoë Kravitz.
The Lara x Local Supply collection was conceptualized alongside brand designer Petra Ekborn throughout the creative process. As a former head of eyewear at Celine – under the reign of Phoebe Philo – and having worked at Dior under Raf Simons, Ekborn’s expertise worked in tandem with Worthington’s input into designs, materials and finishes. colors.
“Glasses have long been an obsession of mine,” Worthington said in a statement. “I love how a great pair of frames can be part of your signature look or can be changed to suit your mood.”
Worthington also cites that she was drawn to Local Supply because of their longstanding commitment to sustainability and design, saying, “I chose to work with Local Supply because it is a independent Australian company. I was drawn to their focus on sustainability and design, as well as their commitment to giving back to their local community.
Lara x Local Supply consists of two basic shapes: the LW01 and LW02, the former inspired by the sleek cat-eye silhouettes of the 90s and the latter a nod to the classic wayfarer silhouette reinvented with a contemporary twist. Carefully crafted from plant-based frames and handcrafted with Mazzucchelli acetate, both styles are available in four colorways, including black, burgundy, brown and grey.
Sean Satha, founder of Local Supply, says the partnership is a genuine collaboration between two like-minded creatives.
“We loved working with Lara on this collection – I feel like there was strong alignment between us regarding brand values, product design and campaign creation, so it all felt very organic. “, says Satha. “Lara was very open-minded and willing to push boundaries creatively, which also made this collaboration a lot of fun to work on.”
