4 eyewear trends to watch in 2023

With 2023 just a few months away, we can’t help but look towards next year’s upcoming fashion trends.

GlassesUSA.com recently released its 2023 Fashion Trends Report, which highlights shopping trends, men’s and women’s eyewear trends, and eyewear that will be in style in 2023.

From green frames to sports eyewear, here are four runway and celebrity eyewear trends that are making waves in 2023. This includes racing frames, prescription sunglasses, sports eyewear and tinted frames.

The runner

Athletic-inspired frames continue to be in style for the coming season, as seen on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.

“Whether you’re on your mountain bike, playing a football game, or following a flying ball down the baseball field, you always need to protect your eyes, which is why sports eyewear will continue to be popular in 2023,” said Lihi Kopel. , Eyewear Designer, GlassesUSA.com.

“The influence of fashion and meta-fashion makes it a trend,” Kopel said.

Top sports eyewear brands include Oakley, Costa, Nike, Puma, Arnette and FILA, among others.

The oversized angle

This nostalgic 1970s look combines oversized frames with clean styling in the #supersizedframes trend. It’s a luxury staple in haute couture women’s eyewear collections for 2023, and it’s also experimenting with the men’s eyewear market and gender-neutral lines.

These chunky frames are typically made from 2023 recycled plastic and feature an oversized silhouette for a dramatic look. These oversized angular looks are geometric, tinted in luxurious neutrals, and some tinted lenses in soft hues bring balance to this maximalist look. Also expect to see plenty of oversized tortoiseshell frames in 2023.

Green frames

Eco-friendly eyewear is all the rage in 2023, with a growing focus on sustainability in fashion. The influence of green glasses will have a stronghold through Season 24, according to the GlassesUSA.com design team.

This includes eyewear collections in natural wood, coffee, cork and bio-acetate. “Many companies are making big efforts to become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint,” Kopel said.

GlassesUSA.com has its own line of eco-friendly eyewear called SeaClean, which includes prescription and non-prescription eyewear made from eco-friendly materials like recycled water bottles and recycled plastic.

Tinted glasses

Retro 1970s-inspired tinted glasses will be popular in 2023, especially glasses in red, orange and yellow, which were spotted by trend setters at Coachella. It’s called the “new retro”. Metallic frames paired with tinted lenses will also be trending next year, along with aviator-style frames.

Many top celebrities are big eyewear trendsetters, especially in the sunglasses category. “A list of names like Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Rihanna are leaders when it comes to determining what’s going to be popular,” said GlassesUSA.com eyewear buyer Mor Margalit.

“Popular eyewear trends are here to stay in terms of what we’ll see in 2023. At GlassesUSA.com, we believe the perfect eyewear style is a combination of authentic, organic, and fun that’s also accessible and inclusive.”
